The Fourth Industrial Revolution, an age in which scientific
and technical advances are unsettling industries, distorting geographical limitations,
challenging existing supervisory outlines, and even redefining what it means to
be human. The digitization of products, big statistics and cloud
computing makes it easier to understand and meet individual customers needs
more precisely. We are at a point of variation, whereby the rules from the
industrial era of mass production are giving way to the digital era of
individualization and optimization. WEF_C4IR_Network_2018

Technology guides the modern world, and those who are comfortable using it are likely to have an easier time finding employment. In fact, research shows that nearly 80% of middle-skill jobs require digital skills. Educational technology can help familiarize students with modern technology and even give them experience in oft-used applications like word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation tools. In this way, educational technology can simultaneously teach students specific subjects and develop their general digital skills.Read more at https://www.waldenu.edu/programs/education/resource/educational-technology-top-advantages-of-digital-curriculum#rrVAQODMKheO1oM3.99

Recommendations on how we should address the issue
- South Africa must build a pipeline of future talent that can embrace the age of evolving technology .
- Computer programming or information technology should be part of the curriculum in both primary and secondary schools and it should be a compulsory subject, because that will enhance our technological advances
- The South African government should unleash innovators through incubation hubs, meaning that the hubs must be aimed to support the development of technological innovations and its conversion to viable business.
Will the 4th Industrial Revolution giving a rise
to new challenges and questions that the public and private sector can
separate, will new technological mechanism disregard jobs, slow the economic
growth or will the labor force evolve and catch up with the new technological change?

Great idea, so what can be recommended as a solution to the disadvantages you have mentioned above?
ReplyDeleteThe idea of 4th Industrial revolution should be made more advanced , advanced in a way that if you log into any account a fringer print should be requested. That will eliminate the amount of hacking
DeleteGreat work! It seems to be a great space to be in but also very scary in the idea that people are now losing jobs, most of these people are bread winners who have lots of responsibilities.
ReplyDelete4th industrial is already making people loose they jobs.
ReplyDeleteAs much as it a good thing I personaly think South Africa is not ready for it.
Now is the time to constantly update ourselves with the new technology. Great content dear
ReplyDeleteIt is good that we as a country want to keep up with the times but it is also important that the government and businesses look after our people and not just themselves. Measure; policies, should be created; followed and implemented to protect people from losing their jobs. Because now, if everyone is to fully advance into technology and not look after us as well, what is the point of going to school to get knowledge and skills when jobs will no longer be available to anyone. What can be done to ensure that there is equilibrium in this case?
ReplyDeleteThe 4th Industrial Revolution is a great initiative, because it keeps us on path with the world and how technology evolves , answering your question ,the government should ensure that peoples jobs are safe and that the economic growth is stable . Government should create opportunities for the people to obtain more than one career/profession. People should avail themselves to be reskilled
DeleteWe need to move with technology because most of the things require technology so it is important for one to be computer literate.
